Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (Harmony) is pleased to announce that it has launched the RECONNECT initiative in collaboration with TEBA, to trace and stay in contact with former Harmony employees in the Free State and the major labour-sending areas.
RECONNECT will be launched in Welkom/Matjhabeng on 5 June 2017.
Harmony’s RECONNECT initiative is also allied to the Department of Health’s Project Ku-Riha, launched in mid-2015 to improve the system of compensation for mineworkers who suffer from occupational lung disease, to address the related claims backlog and to ensure that claims are paid more speedily and efficiently.
For the Harmony RECONNECT project, TEBA will be responsible for managing the administration process by providing efficient and professional customer services. Former employees or their dependants will be able to update their contact details and find out if they have unclaimed retirement and / or unpaid occupational lung disease benefits due to them.
The next phase of the project will run in Welkom / Matjhabeng from 5 June 2017 to 31 July 2017. Former employees of Harmony are encouraged to visit the centres listed below to update their details and to find out if they have unpaid benefits for occupational lung disease.
